Maintenance Tech

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as production machines and equipment, PLC’s, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, boilers, plumbing and electrical systems while remaining aware of the food safety aspects associated with the position, such as awareness of lubricants, food grade surfaces, boiler chemicals, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must abide by and follow all food safety procedures in the performance of maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantle machines or equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust fee mechanisms.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repair or replace defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Bend and cut conduit and wire, and drill holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections.
  • Set up and operate drill presses, grinders, welders and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
  • Repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Clean work area after maintenance functions have been completed.
  • Accepts personal responsibility at all times for themselves and assists where they can with the safety of other team members and contractors.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong electrical background is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of hand and power tools is essential.
  • Requires the ability to act independently without direct supervision as well as to support a team to accomplish critical and timely objectives.  Basic knowledge of product flows.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge to replay and/or replace and troubleshoot machinery, instrumentation and hard-wired electrical devices in all areas of the plant.
  • Mechanical aptitude to learn computer operation, software and to perform general maintenance on all types of equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Five years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred with emphasis in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, PLC, schematics and trouble-shooting equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Bucket Truck Operator- Tree Trimmer

A bucket truck operator- Tree Trimmer is responsible for lifting and positioning equipment over long distances. The work is often physically demanding and includes lifting heavy loads, pulling, pushing and carrying items, climbing stairs, and working from heights. The ideal candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the equipment being used, have experience working in a team environment with other employees, be mindful of hazards such as overhead wires and be able to lift heavy loads with regular frequency.

The position is available for an individual with a strong work ethic who is able to work independently, enjoys learning new skills, and likes working outdoors. The bucket truck operator- Tree Trimmer will at all times adhere to Cutting Edge safety guidelines, performing work according to all policies and procedures. This is a skilled position responsible for tree maintenance, pruning and removals on residential and commercial properties using their own ropes, harness, saddle, and/or company bucket truck in accordance with company policy.

Bucket Truck Operator-Tree Trimmer Responsibility:

In this role, you will set up stamping and specialty presses that range in size and choose the appropriate fixtures for each job. Responsible for basic machine operations including cycling and setting of counting devices, recognizing the condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through the die and positioning, and removing parts from the die. 

We expect all items to be completed accurately and consistently, so you will also conduct quality assurance tests using precision measuring tools. All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. 

 

 Die Setter Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Set presses and fixtures
  • Load coils/ material onto the presses
  • Load stamping dies onto the presses
  • Inspect products for quality assurance 
  • Make alignment adjustments  
  • Use precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers, to ensure products are made to specification
  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment
  • Assist operators as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Evaluate each die for maintenance problems.
  • Assist in coordination of maintenance and repair of tooling through tool room.
  • Perform die repairs and adjustments as required 
  • Operate crane

  • Die setting or metal stamping experience
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or training program
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 70 lbs.
